PREMIERE: E^ST & Mallrat Cut Loose In ‘Get Money!’ Music Video

Whereas a lot of us spent our late teens with either our hands down our pants or secured around an endless array of schooners, the next generation of youngsters seem to possess the kind of drive and ambition that makes this music writer physically exhausted just thinking about it.

Point and case, the Cenny Coast’s E^ST, who after an epic debut year of touring and studio time, including collabs with a number of diverse artists including Club Cheval, Fono and Japanese Wallpaper, is back this Friday with her second EP in two years titled Get Money!, once again proving the fact that by comparison we’re all hideously lazy jerks who will never aspire to anything.

First single, the titular Get Money!, which premiered with Richard Kingsmill on triple j earlier in the month, sees the singer-songwriter pair up with another fresh keen young face (ugh… more of them?) with Brisbane MC and future hip-hop superstar Mallrat getting in on the action. Ahead of the EP dropping in a matter of days, the song is getting its music video premiere, right here, exclusively on Music Feeds.

Seeing E^ST (a.k.a Mel Bester) ditching her shitty shelf stocking job to go kick it with Mallrat and co. (and discovering something magical in the process), the clip is drenched in the carefree, good-time vibes of youth that if I try really hard and close my eyes in a dark, quiet room, I can maybe recall experiencing once.
