PREMIERE: Follow A Record’s Journey From Shop To Gig In Lance Ferguson’s ‘Back To You’ Video

New Zealand-born singer, producer and songwriter Lance Ferguson hast unveiled the new music video for his new track ‘Back To You’ from his latest project Raw Material.

Joining together with EMRSN and Mose on vocals and recorded with One Above, the clip was directed by Grey Ghost and inspired by the development of Ferguson’s new project itself.

It follows the story of the pressing of individual singles to vinyl in order to give Ferguson’s favourite producers the opportunity to remix and create their own new version of the tracks, and the clip itself depicts this life cycle of a record from its original sale, to a garage sale, to performance, using a vinyl record in a live setting.

“Here are 24 hours in the life of a vinyl record…played through several sets of speakers, sampled, scratched, treasured and discarded,” said Ferguson of the video. “I often wonder what crazy stories the records on my shelf would tell if they could talk.”

Raw Material
is set to be released on Friday, 4th August and features over 35 collaborators. You can also join Ferguson’s remix competition for the track ‘2+1’ – a song from which ‘Back To You’ is sampled – in any production style here to go in the running to win a turntable and headphones from Audio Technica.
