Melbourne electro-pop singer-songwriter Nussy is preparing for a limited run of shows in Melbourne and Sydney in February, and is today unveiling the visuals for new single ‘Hard As Diamonds’.
The new synth-driven track shows off Nussy’s understated and captivating vocals, building slowly towards an intense climax marked by an unpredictable guitar solo.
The mesmerising video clip for the track follows Nussy’s post-dusk mission as she drives through a brightly lit city, all cut with neon-tinted footage showcasing the mysterious nature of the night.
The Melbourne artist admits that inspiration was drawn from hit Netflix show Stranger Things, where ‘Hard As Diamonds’ would fit right in with its ’80s synth vibes.
“Coming up with the concept for the video clip was a collaborative effort between myself, my management and Dan Smith who directed the clip,” explains Nussy. “The story centres around a tough chick who drives around the city to embark on a mysterious mission. We drew a lot of influence from the film Drive and TV series Stranger Things.”
