PREMIERE: Stream Sydney Indie Crew Flowertruck’s Vibrant Debut Album ‘Mostly Sunny’

Sydney inner-western indie rock darlings Flowertruck have gifted us with a vibrant bouquet of freshly plucked tunes wrapped up in their debut LP, ‘Mostly Sunny’.

As colourful, sun-drenched, dewy and nostalgic as the images conjured up by their band name, Flowertruck’s charming debut is a joyous and melancholic collection of 90’s-glancing indie hymns, each showcasing the group’s winning combo of upbeat melodies, hooky guitar runs and vocalist Charles Rushforth’s quintessential Aussie twang.

Guitarist Hamish Dobinson describes the disc as “kind of our coming of age as a band and signals a new era in Flowertruck”.

“Our EP was our adolescence not only as a band but also as musicians. The LP is a marker of our development together as a band and in our musicianship from so much bloody touring,” he says.

Recorded at the iconic Grove studios with heavyweights Richard Belkner (PVT, Bertie Blackman, Brendan Maclean), Flowertruck’s debut long-player was mixed by Matt Voigt (Big Scary, Twerps, Cat Power) and mastered by John Lee (Lost Animal, Emma Russack, Totally Mild, Ocean Party).

Catch it premiering exclusively via Music Feeds below ahead of its official release tomorrow, Friday, 16th March.

To toast the arrival of ‘Mostly Sunny’, Flowertruck will also be hitting the open road to perform a series of live dates this April. Catch those below as well.
