Sydney six-piece Tropical Zombie are following up the 2014 release of their debut EP with a brand-new track Waterslides, which we’re glad to be premiering right here on Music Feeds today!
Having formed in 2012, after merging two bands in what was supposed to be a one-time-only show, the Sydney boys recognised a good thing when they had one, and set out together to create their own brand of music they’ve dubbed “holiday rock”.
That’s exactly what it sounds like, too, the guys melding indie sounds, garage rock, pop, reggae, surf rock and latin grooves, the perfect soundtrack for when you’re not doing much of anything — except, of course, when you’re seeing one of their smashing live shows.
In 2014 Tropical Zombie released their debut EP See It All – a series of songs which detailed their overseas adventures alongside some infectious melodies – and spent the rest of the year touring in Europe and playing a string of headline shows and festival sets at home.
The holiday rockers are set to take their grooves to a handful of upcoming festivals, including this Friday’s UTS O’Fest and this weekend’s Mountain Sounds Festival, armed with their new single Waterslides. Have a listen to it below and keep an eye out for the film clip, expected to drop next week.
