Primal Scream have recently announced their new album More Light and now they’ve got some more info for us, namely a release date, their guest artists and a track list.
Following on from the positive reception of their latest single 2013, we now have a date to look forward to. Friday, 10th May, ladies and gentlemen, is a day that is now significant to us all – the Australian release of More Light.
For their first LP in around 5 years Primal Scream certainly aren’t treading carefully. The record boasts 13 stand-out jams and given the credit list, which includes the likes of Robert Plant, Kevin Shields, The Pop Group’s Mark Stewart and Jason Faulkner, More Light is shaping up to be anything but a small deal.
Frontman Bobby Gillespie was a driving force behind the release and has explained his thought process behind the new album:
“I wanted to convey coming out of a dark time and into a good one… We always knew it wasn’t going to be a straight ahead, balls to the wall, high-energy rock n’ roll, two guitars, bass and drum record. It’s sophisticated, layered, cinematic and orchestral; obviously working with Holmes we were hoping to make a record more in keeping with that vision.”
The band put David Holmes at the helm for production and hopped between LA and the UK to get the job done. Serious amount of effort there, so you will buy the album, and you will enjoy it.
