Pyramid Rock 2012 Lineup Announcement Coming This Afternoon

The first lineup of acts for Phillip Island’s much-loved Pyramid Rock Festival will be announced on Music Feeds just before 5pm this afternoon.

Pyramid Rock Festival has become one of Victoria’s premier New Year’s Eve celebrations since it was established as a one-day event in 2004 – headlined by Regurgitator and Bliss N Eso.

Update: Lineup has been announced

The following year it expanded to a two-day event, with a three-day, early arrival option added the following year following gigantic traffic delays getting to and from the event.

Past headliners of the festival over the years have included The John Butler Trio, Silverchair, Hilltop Hoods, The Black Keys, N*E*R*D and the Scissor Sisters. Acts such as The Living End, Gyroscope and Xavier Rudd have each played the festival on three different occasions.

The festival has had its fair share of dramas: in 2009 headliners Empire of the Sun and other acts set to play on New Year’s Eve – Grinspoon, The Butterfly Effect and Van She – were unable to play their sets after an electrical storm cut power to the main stage.

However, it has bounced back in style over the last two years, with international headliners, and several acts from the festival also going on to play at the Summadayze Festival.

This year’s Pyramid Rock Festival will be held at Phillip Island from Saturday, December 29, 2012 – Tuesday, January 1, 2013.
