Ringo Starr’s Grandson, Liam Gallagher’s Son Plead Not Guilty To Assault Charges

Ringo Starr‘s grandson Sonny Starkey and Liam Gallagher‘s son Gene Gallagher have faced court in London over assault charges relating to a brawl that took place in a grocery store last year.

Starkey, 19, Gallagher, 19, and model Noah Ponte, 20, allegedly fought staff at a Tesco Express in Hampstead, North London in May 2019, after Ponte was confronted for attempting to steal a can of beer after the store’s curfew for selling alcohol.

According to The Sun, Ponte allegedly told a South Asian security guard at the store, “You bloody Indians. Go back to where you came from. You’re not wanted here.” A fight then broke out, with all three alleged to have attacked staff.

All three have reportedly been charged with assault and affray, with Gallagher and Ponte accused of racially aggravated assault.  Appearing at Wood Green Magistrates Court last Friday (20th November), the trio each plead not guilty.

According to Metro, at an earlier hearing back in March, prosecutor Alexander Agbamu told the court, ‘This is a very factually straightforward case where much of the incident has been captured by CCTV.”

The trio have been released on unconditional bail – they’re set to face trial in January next year.
