SAFIA were up this morning for triple j‘s Like A Version and gee whiz what a gooden. They took on Queens Of The Stone Age classic ‘No One Knows’, stripping it back and calming it right down.
The Canberra, electro-pop gang have a serious knack for making anything sound slightly more dramatic with their dynamic instrumentals and of course frontman, Ben Woolner’s signature vocals.
Alongside the cover, they performed their own single ‘Resolution’ too. They took along a string ensemble and a team of backing vocalists to help them out, managing to bring as much to their original as they did their LAV.
SAFIA are gearing up to release their second album, Story’s Start Or End on Friday, 9th August.
They’ll be heading around the country late next month with Boo Seeka and Eilish Gilligan on support. Check out all the dates and ticketing information here.
Queens of the Stone Age are releasing new music soon too. We don’t have many details at the moment, but Dave Grohl and Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) have been working on it too.
Have a listen to both their QOTSA Like a Version and their original, ‘Resolution’ down below.
