Hard rock icons Scorpions and Whitesnake have announced they’ll team up for an Australian tour next year, playing a string of East Coast dates in February.
It’ll be the first Sydney show ever for Scorpions, after Australian dates with Def Leppard last year, and the first Australian shows for Whitesnake in 12 years.
“As promised… time to come back to Australia! We’re all very much exited to see our fans Down Under in February 2020,” says Scorpions leader Klaus Meine about the impending shows.
“Get ready for the bite of Whitesnake and the sting of the Scorpions. We’re gonna rock you like a hurricane!”
Both acts have spent decades cementing their legacy in rock’s history. Forming in 1965, tracks like ‘Wind of Change’, ‘Rock You Like a Hurricane’ and ‘Send Me An Angel’ have seen Scorpions praised as a huge influence on rock and glam metal.
Whitesnake, meanwhile, have carved out a place for themselves with hits like ‘Still of the Night’ and ‘Here I Go Again’. Which isn’t to say they’ve slowed down – the band released 13th studio album Flesh & Blood back in May of this year.
“We are beyond thrilled to be returning to Australia after so many years to play our music for you,” says Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale.
“What is extra special is we’re returning with our very rocking friend the Scorpions!! Scorpions and Snakes. It doesn’t get any better, or louder! We promise you these will be nights to remember.”
Check out tour details below. Tickets go on sale this Friday, 1st November, but if you happen to be a member of either the Scorpions or Whitesnake fan club, there’s a pre-sale starting midday tomorrow, Tuesday, 29th October.
