Sia’s Writing Songs For A TV Show About A 21st Century Popstar

Sia‘s a song writing machine. She’s written for Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kanye and heaps more and now she’s adding a television show to her resumé.

The Aussie popstar will write songs for a television show about a popstar navigating the industry in the 21st century.

As The Hollywood Reporter reports, the show Vox Lux will star Rooney Mara who played the lead role in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

It will start in 1999 and track her rise to stardom over the next 17 years while also looking at the issues in the world surrounding that period.

It’s being directed by budding director and actor Brady Corbet who directed the last year’s The Childhood of a Leader starring Robert Pattinson.

Sia’s penning songs for the show’s official soundtrack but it is unknown yet whether Mara will be singing those tunes.

Nobody knows quite as much as Sia does about being a popstar in the 21st century. She started as an alternative songstress in Australia before getting her international break working with names like David Guetta and Christina Aguilera. She’s now one of the world’s most sought after writers and singers, bagging her own US number hit with Cheap Thrills this year.
