Iconic Sydney live music venue, The Annandale Hotel, has released details of the Save Live Australian Music gigs they are hosting next week.
All the shows are free and in support of National Save Live Australian Music Day: February 23.
On this day in 2010, over 20,000 people rallied in Melbourne, protesting the Victorian Government’s misguided policy linking live music with violence. It was the largest cultural protest in Australian history.
The SLAM shows also provide Matt and Dan Rule, Annandale Hotel owners, the opportunity to show their gratitude for the positive response their Buy a Brick campaign has fostered.
Launched late last year, the campaign is an effort to sponsor a much-needed upgrade of the building, and reduce their debts.
Bricks will be on sale at all the shows, with inscribed plaques being mounted on the building in exchange for funds, and the for sale signs being removed.
Come down and support live music and Australian music venues.
