The already massive and eclectic Bluesfest 2016 lineup has just been imbued with a whole lot of soul, with the addition of another stack of incredible artists to the dream bill, including master of soul D’Angelo who will be touring with his current band, The Vanguard.
D’Angelo will be showcasing his latest and universally acclaimed album, Black Messiah which marked his return to music after over a decade, as well as his lauded back catalogue. The soul man was last in the country for Soulfest in 2014.
Also featured on the updated Bluesfest bill are Los Angeles four-piece Cold War Kids, local future soul heroes Hiatus Kaiyote, folk rockers Houndmouth and even more.
2016 is shaping up to be a huge year for Bluesfest as they have already announced massive names like Kendrick Lamar, The National, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and City and Colour.
It’s all set to kick off on Thursday, 24th March 2016 and run over the Easter long weekend which means you don’t need to take much time off work in order to facilitate a cheeky Byron Bay getaway.
