Bluesfest 2016 just got, er, bluesier, with the addition of more legendary artists to the already massive bill, including The “Original” Blues Brothers Band.
Organisers of the festival have convinced the original band to get back together for a special festival performance with 11 members set to take to the stage.
It doesn’t stop there though. American Pie singer Don McLean is heading down-under to lead some mighty sing-alongs as is gospel act The Blind Boys Of Alabama and Jeff Martin of The Tea Party.
There are a handful of Aussie additions too with ARIA Hall Of Fame inductee Russell Morris, legendary Indigenous artist Archie Roach and the ever-charasmatic Tex Perkins and The Ape all set to make the trip to Byron in April.
They join a constantly-expanding lineup that includes Kendrick Lamar, Tom Jones, D’Angelo and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. We’re not sure how they’re doing it but this lineup just continues to get bigger and bigger with no end in site.

UPDATE 16/12/15: A special Christmas announcement has seen 10 more acts added to the Bluesfest 2016 lineup, including Modest Mouse & Ash Grunwald.
UPDATE 04/02/16: Eagles Of Death Metal plus a slew of other names have been added in the final lineup announcement.
UPDATE 26/02/16: Don McLean has pulled out of Bluesfest 2016 and has postponed his Australian tour until 2017. His management has released a statement explaining the cancellations.
