Turns out if you’re planning on heading along to see Snakehips at this year’s Splendour In The Grass you may find yourself jamming to a Zayn Malik song.
The British duo have unveiled a painfully small teaser of a new song Cruel which features the vocals of the ex-One Direction member Zayn ahead of its Friday release.
Its release will come just a week before they hit the stage at Splendour In The Grass. They’re also playing sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne but it’s unlikely that Zayn’s going to come along for the ride.
The duo scored a massive hit last year with All My Friends featuring Tinashe and Chance The Rapper and followed it up with an EP featuring Anderson .Paak and Tory Lanez.
This is Zayn’s first new material since his debut solo album Mind Of Mine which spawned a number one hit in Pillowtalk. It’s now been over a year since he left One Direction in the middle of a world tour but things seem to be working out for him.
Interestingly he told Glamour this week that he left One Direction because, “an alien spoke to me in a dream,” which is a bizarre, Tom DeLonge-esque answer.
Whatever his reasons were, his Snakehips collab is sure to have people who would’ve never considered themselves a Directioner, listening to Zayn. The full song drops tomorrow but you can listen to a preview below.
