Another huge international music festival has revealed plans to expand into Australia, thanks to the team at Secret Sounds — the group behind Australia’s Splendour In The Grass and Falls festivals.
The huge US festival Austin City Limits is officially coming to Sydney in 2018 for the first-ever Sydney City Limits, and its debut lineup is a DOOZY — “hotter than a Bunnings sausage sizzle and ten times as tasty”, organisers reckon.

French electronic duo Justice, alt-rock legend Beck and French rockers Phoenix top the roster, which also features the likes of American indie king Car Seat Headrest, The Libertines, Thundercat and a triple j listener’s wet dream of homegrown faves, including Vance Joy, Tash Sultana, Gang Of Youths, Dune Rats, The Avalanches, Allday, Bad//Dreems, Alex Lahey and more.
A total of 30 acts will be spread across four stages in the lush, inner-city oasis that is Sydney’s Centennial Park on Saturday, 24th February 2018, for a one-day summer fiesta that combines the best of music, food, art and community into a “Sydney block party like no other”. It’s all an all-ages and fully licensed event.

“As a Sydney-sider I’m super excited to bring this new event to town. Direct from Austin, Texas and the flagship Austin City Limits, sister event Sydney City Limits looks forward to presenting some of the most awesome international and Australian acts around.
“Offering up the best in show, it’s very much going to be a celebration of Sydney itself — the food, local artists and the community that makes it such a great place to live and visit.”
Today’s announcement comes after Austin City Limits expanded to Auckland last year, and Phoenix teased Aussie tour plans for 2018.
