Do you fancy yourself as the next big name in Australian hip hop? If you’ve got some sweet rhymes and you wanna see yourself on the lineup for all-Aussie hip hop festival Sprung, it’s time to get your entry together for the Sprung Hip Hop Festival Emcee Competition.
MCs from all around the country can apply, with 16 top contenders being selected to face off against each other on stage at the Real Talk Battle League 4th Birthday Bash on Saturday, 7th September at Brisbane’s Transcontinental Hotel. The competition will then be narrowed down to eight finalists, who’ll get to prove their worth on the Sprung Brisbane stage.
The eventual winner gets a much-coveted spot on the 2014 Sprung lineup, as well as a host of other prizes. If you think you’ve got what it takes, like previous winners Kudos (2011) and Komplete (2012), submit a 3-minute or less video showing your skills to sprungrapcomp@gmail.com
Sprung takes place on Saturday, 21st September, in Brisbane and Saturday, 19th October in Melbourne,
with 360, Drapht and Seth Sentry headlining the proceedings. Tickets available through the official Sprung website.
