Sprung Hip Hop Festival, one of the largest gatherings of Aussie hip hop in the country, has just released the line up for its 2013 incarnation, with 360, Drapht and Seth Sentry topping the bill. The full roster is a who’s who of all-stars from the genre, and this year Sprung Hip Hop Festival will also be taking the action down to Melbourne for an additional show after previously holding the event exclusively in Brisbane, and it’s all presented by Music Feeds.
The announcement that 360 will be headlining this year’s festival is great news for fans of the festival. The rapper is currently experiencing a golden run: since the 2011 release of his sophomore album Falling & Flying, 360 has notched up a top five ARIA album, a #1 iTunes chart debut, three entries in the 2012 triple j Hottest 100 and he also won the award for the 2011 Channel [V] Oz Artist of the Year.
Of course, there’s no ‘I’ in team, and the rest of the line up for Sprung 2013 is just as impressive. The honour roll includes the likes of Horrorshow, Thundamentals, Allday, Urthboy, Dialectrix and Brad Stut, just to name a few.
The event is all-ages and the festival’s organisers have kept the pricing low at a relaxed $79 + BF or, for the die hards out there, there’s the option of a $130 + BF VIP ticket. Even better, if you’re subscribed to the Sprung Hip Hop mailing list you’ll only have to pay $70 + BF in the subscribers’ pre-sale.
Last year VIP tickets to Spring Hip Hop Festival sold out in a staggering 2 hours so make sure you book this one into your calendar.
Pre-sale tickets go on sale for the Brisbane show on Thursday, 13th June while the Melbourne pre-sale will be available on Tuesday, 16th July. Brisbane tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday 15th June and in Melbourne on Thursday, 18th July.
