It’s Official: Aussie Hip Hop Festival Sprung Is Coming Back In 2017

UPDATE: The 2017 Sprung Festival lineup has now been announced.

ORIGINAL STORY: The hints were true — Aussie hip hop festival Sprung is officially making a comeback this year.

The festival, which hasn’t happened since 2014, sparked speculation last week when it updated its social media accounts, and now its return has been confirmed by organisers.

Sprung Festival 2017 will take place Parkwood, Queensland on Saturday, 28th October, and the lineup will be announced this Friday, 18th August.

“We have been waiting for the right time to bring Sprung back to the people, we hit the ceiling pretty quickly when it came to headlining artists so we needed to allow the community to evolve,” organisers say, explaining the festival’s absence.

“We are now seeing artists that were once on at midday on our stages taking to the headline spots and a whole new wave of incredible artists that we can’t wait to showcase.”

Previous Sprung lineups have included the likes of Hilltop Hoods, Illy, Drapht and 360. In 2013, the festival announced an expansion into Victoria, but the event was cancelled.
