Melbourne’s free St Kilda Festival has dropped its full lineup for 2016, led by the likes of synth-poppers Client Liaison, Brisbane’s The Grates and event headliner Hayden James.
This year’s St Kilda Festival packs over 50 artists across six stages, and also features locals like The Bombay Royale, The Beards, Tuka and indigenous musician Gurrumul.
Set for 14th February 2016, the 36th St Kilda Fest is preparing to host over 400,000 festival-goers as it helps to promote Aussie artists to the world.
Port Phillip Mayor Bernadene Voss says the event celebrates “Australian music, our beaches and parks, and of course our huge array of restaurants, bars and cafes”.
“We’re thrilled to be able to support the Australian music industry in such a diverse and dynamic way that brings hundreds of thousands of locals and visitors to our wonderful city,” Ms Voss says.
Last year’s St Kilda Festival featured sets from the likes of Thundamentals, The Basics, Hot Dub Time Machine, The Church and San Cisco. This year, the tunes will kick off from 11am, with artists performing right up until Hayden James’ headline set at 9:15pm.
