Gold Coast nu metal act Sunk Loto are back together nearly 15 years after announcing their dissolution. The foursome of guitarist Luke McDonald, bassist Sean Van Gennip, vocalist Jason Brown, and drummer Dane Brown have announced two comeback gigs in their home state of Queensland this winter.
Sunk Loto’s return to the stage will happen at Gold Coast venue Mo’s Desert Clubhouse on Friday, 29th July. The band will head to Brisbane the following weekend for a gig at The Triffid on Saturday, 6th August.
The band announced their reunification earlier this week on social media. “Hey guys, we are officially back!” they wrote. “Thank you for all the love & support you’ve shown us on our return! looking forward to giving you more exciting news! we love you”.
Sunk Loto formed in 1997 and released their debut EP, Society Anxiety, in 1999. Their debut album, Big Picture Lies, came out in 2000 and featured the singles ‘Sunken Eyes’ and ‘Make You Feel’. Sunk Loto’s second album, Between Birth and Death, came out in 2003. The album gave rise to the band’s most popular song, ‘Everything Everyway’.
In the course of their decade-long run, Sunk Loto toured the world supporting the likes of Korn, Linkin Park, Suicidal Tendencies, A Perfect Circle, Deftones, and Sevendust.
