Chapel Hill, North Carolina’s finest, Superchunk, are to continue with their reissue campaign through Merge Records with an updated version of Foolish set to come out on September 13.
Pitchfork report that the new edition of the album, which was first released in 1994, will be re-released on September 13 (US). The new LP is remastered and expanded, including as it does some bonus material, new artwork (the original artwork being the work of bass player Laura Ballance) and new liner notes from charismatic drummer Jon Wurster.
Foolish is widely regarded as Superchunk’s finest album, and thought of by many as among the great ‘lost classics’ of nineties indie. It was the band’s fourth album in total since their 1990 eponymous debut.
Superchunk released their last album, Majesty Shredding, in 2010, while the band are playing festivals this year in both the United States and the UK.
And here is the very entertaining video to Driveway To Driveway, one of Foolish‘s finer moments.
