Eora/Sydney-based seven-piece Krystal Rivvers have ripped into 2025 with a sun-soaked new slice of rock n’ roll dubbed ‘Sienna’.
Produced by Jack Moffit (The Preatures, I Know Leopard), Reyne House (Dope Lemon, The Delta Riggs), and Boon Wurrung/Wurundjeri storyteller and lead singer Earl Weir, the fresh track is a warm blend of strummed acoustic guitars, sliding bass lines, vibrant piano lines and crooning vocals.
Krystal Rivvers – ‘Sienna’
“The story’s foundation is the poetry; we’ve used tones and energetic shifts to bring that to life,” lead singer Earl Weir explains. “Through that basis, I can tell my version of the story while leaving space for the listener to interpret the lyrics in their own way. With the balance of light and dark, happy and sad, you are able to let the song take you wherever you want to go.”
With a sound that takes its cues from luminaries The War On Drugs, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds and Leonard Cohen, Krystal Rivvers create story-driven rock ‘n’ roll that aims to envelop the listener in warm instrumentation and contemplative soundscapes.
The band kickstarted 2025 with a performance at NYE-straddling Central Coast festival staple Lost Paradise, and have two upcoming live dates at Melbourne’s Lulie Tavern and the Sydney leg of Bootleg Rascal‘s Booty Block Party this April.
