Tame Impala Announce New Album ‘Currents’, Stream Single ”Cause I’m a Man’

Perth psych rockers Tame Impala have announced their much-anticipated new album, titled Currents, and have shared another taste of the record via new single ‘Cause I’m a Man.

The band first revealed the album title and its artwork via their Facebook page, a post which was followed by another with a link to their soulful new single. ‘Cause I’m a Man follows the band’s surprise single, the epic eight-minute track Let It Happen.

“Sketched out in planes, cars, hotels and homes since the completion of Tame Impala’s worldwide critically acclaimed Lonerism in 2012, ‘Cause I’m a Man and Let It Happen were written, performed, recorded, produced and mixed by Kevin Parker in Fremantle, Western Australia,” the band wrote in a press release, via Rolling Stone.

Currents does not yet have a release date, but is expected to drop later this year.

While Tame Impala have yet to lock in any Australian shows where they can show-off the new material, they are scheduled to appear at a number of American and European festivals including Coachella, Governor’s Ball, Sasquatch, Bestival, Lowlands, Lollapalooza Berlin, Rock En Seine, and Electric Picnic and are about to kick off a US tour.
