Tame Impala’s Cameron Avery Shares New Solo Track ‘C’est Toi’

Former Pond member and touring Tame Impala musician Cameron Avery is gearing up to release his new solo album, and he’s just dropped the first taste of what’s to come care of a tune called C’est Toi.

C’est Toi (which translates to ‘It’s You’) is the first release for Avery on his new label Anti-, and he’s has also shared an official music video for the track.

The video (below) explores love and life in New York and Los Angeles, cutting back and forth between Avery sitting playing a grand piano. While the tune itself certainly has some slight psychedelic tendencies, it also explores the use of clean strings and piano.

“It’s a love song I wrote about when I fell in love the last time,” says Avery in a press release (Via Pitchfork).

“I recorded it with Jonathan Wilson at Five Star… It was the first time I got to work with Jonathan, being an old friend of mine and the guy who convinced me to move to L.A. and really encouraged me to make a vocally driven album. It’s also the first time I ever let anyone co-produce with me.”

Cameron Avery’s new solo album is due out next year. Catch C’est Toi, below.
