Tame Impala‘s psychedelic masterpiece remix of Miguel‘s track Waves has now been given a super chill video treatment.
Featuring master of chill Kevin Parker and the R&B crooner Miguel chilling on a rainy beach, the clip – which is actually just a minute-and-a-half segment from the remix – shows the two men roaming crashing waves on a desolate beach, with discarded furniture strewn about, complementing the remix’s washed-out guitars and woozy, off-kilter synths.
The remix is part of a collection dubbed Rogue Waves, which also features reworks of the track by Travis Scott, Kacey Musgraves and RAC.
The Perth act proved to be a prefect for the project, with Miguel’s latest album Wildheart being largely influenced by psychedelic music – Tame’s wheelhouse – while Tame Impala’s latest album placed them closer in world of pop and R&B, Rihanna even covering their track New Person, Same Old Mistakes.
Miguel took to Instagram to share his experience in shooting the video for the remix, captioning his picture with “it only rains in LA when you’re filming @tame__impala”.
