The 1975 Add More New Shows To Australian Tour

The 1975 have announced extra dates for Melbourne and Sydney while in the country for a national tour this January. The beloved Mancunian indie rock outfit’s new performances will take place Sunday, 11th January at Melbourne Festival Hall and Friday, 16th January and the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney.

The new dates come shortly after the UK four-piece confirmed the addition of an all ages Adelaide show to their highly anticipated Australian tour. The Adelaide date was announced following an overwhelming demand from fans on social media, which even included an online petition.

The band have become frequent visitors to Australia since the release of their self-titled debut album last year. They most recently appeared at Splendour In The Grass in Byron Bay, as well as a series of headline dates, which followed the band’s lauded performances as part of the Big Day Out 2014 tour.

The band have become renowned for their live performances over the last 12 months. Music Feeds reviewer Alex Langlands was in attendance during their Metro Theatre gig back in July, praising frontman Matthew Healy’s “magnetic onstage presence” and the band’s “admirable” technical ability.
