The Devil Wears Prada Announce New Album ‘Transit Blues’, Unveil Heavy Single ‘Daughter’

After a fairly eventful gap between releases, The Devil Wears Prada have delivered the goods for their next effort. We now know the album will be titled Transit Blues and will hit shelves, both digitally and otherwise, on Friday, 7th October.

The album update comes hand in hand with the album art from the band which seems to have fans a little concerned that Transit Blues will be a massive departure from the Prada we’ve come to know and love. However, about five seconds into the band’s new single and maiden track off the album, Daughter, it’s clear the dudes still mean business as usual.

Since wrapping up their last album cycle for Space EP, The Devil Wears Prada have had a fairly bumpy ride. First they lost founding member and guitarist Chris Rubey, before losing founding member and drummer Daniel Williams in what appeared to be dubious circumstances.

Daughter sees the return of the usual, schizophrenic back and forth between vocalists atop a blizzard of crushing distortion and relentless breakdowns.

The track also comes with the lyrics, which suggests that like previous TDWP albums, the devil is in the detail / lyrics. “Over a lifetime I never loved her: my daughter” is how the track begins. So you have our attention, good sirs, please, continue.
