The Drums – i.e., the solo project of New York musician Jonathan Pierce – have announced a run of shows around Australia in February 2024. Pierce will be here in support of The Drums’ new album, Jonny, playing headline shows in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Jonny came out in the first half of October 2023, led by the singles ‘I Want It All’, ‘Plastic Envelope’ and ‘Obvious’. On the day of the album’s released, Pierce shared the video for ‘Dying’, which features Rico Nasty. Watch it below and keep reading to find all the tour details.
The Drums – ‘Dying’ feat. Rico Nasty
Jonny is The Drums’ sixth album. It arrives more than 13 years after the band’s self-titled debut, which included the breakout single, ‘Let’s Go Surfing’. The band’s next album, Portamento, came out in 2011, preceded by The Drums’ best-known song, ‘Money’.
The Drums had slimmed down to a duo of Pierce and guitarist Jacob Graham by the time of their third album, 2014’s Encyclopedia. Graham left before 2017’s Abysmal Thoughts and The Drums has operated as Pierce’s solo outlet ever since.
