Some great news for fans of metalcore outfit The Ghost Inside as the band have confirmed they’ve completed recording their first new album since the 2015 bus crash which claimed the life of two drivers and saw both drummer Andrew Tkaczyk and guitarist Zach Johnson sustain serious injuries.
As MetalSucks reports, Tkaczyk shared the news regarding album five on an episode of The Downbeat, the podcast hosted by Stray from the Path’s Craig Reynolds.
During the interview, Tkaczyk explains that early last year he converted one of his bedrooms into a studio, and he and his bandmates began writing in the space.
“So when we got hold of Will [Putney] to tell him we were interested in him producing the record, we also had Jeremy [McKinnon] from A Day To Remember on board, which we’ve had on the last two records,” says Tkaczyk How it worked was, we first initially met up in Orlando at Jeremy’s studio and Andrew Wade’s studio to do these pre-pro demos. And that was in May of last year.
So he came there, and we all flew to Florida, and we spent two or three weeks in Orlando. And then we took a little break because we had our comeback show to do in July, so we took a little break to prepare for that, and then went back to good old Belleville, New Jersey to finish and track the record.”
Tkaczyk says the band are yet to settle on a name, but the record is done. “Literally as of last night we are listening to the mix, and all this stuff. So, it’s super exciting.”Hopefully this means we could see the new record within the next six months. The last album from The Ghost Inside was 2014’s Dear Youth.
The band were recently here in Australia as part of this year’s Unify Gathering, making their return to stages down under for the first time since 2014.
