The Griswolds ‘Be Impressive’ Australian Tour Announced

Sydney-bred indie rockers The Griswolds have spent the better part of 2014 conquering stages in the US and recording their much anticipated debut full length album Be Impressive, which is out now. In celebration of their achievements, the band are now heading home for a string of national tour dates this September.

It’s been an eventful year for the Sydney outfit and they’ve spent the majority of it on a relentless US tour. Taking us through the gruelling realities of touring and tips to get though it, band member Chris Whitehall told us recently that it’s persistence that counts. “You just gotta play gigs and keep on playing them until you can’t physically stand or sing, then you gotta keep playing them anyway,” he said.

Now armed with a new album, The Griswolds will be testing their touring endurance on home soil once again. They’ll be kicking things off in Melbourne on Thursday, 25th September, before taking on another nine shows across six states and territories.

Recorded in New York City with M83 and Phoenix producer Tony Hoffer, Be Impressive follows The Griswolds’ signing to US label Wind-Up Records. The track Beware the Dog and its new video have become both a national and international hit, making the top five in the Hype Machine global blog charts.

Talking us through the record track by track, The Griswolds’ Christopher Whitehall explained that Beware The Dog is a deeply personal song. “It’s about losing someone we were really close with to heavy drug use. Beware The Dog is about that journey – the good and the bad times.”
