The Rumjacks Singer Jailed For 16 Months

The lead singer of The Rumjacks, Frankie Mclaughlin, has been jailed for 16 months according to Melbourne music website, Tone Deaf. The band were scheduled to perform at the Manning Bar in Sydney tonight, however, the gig has since been cancelled. Manning Bar issued a statement via their Facebook page earlier today:

“We have just been informed that due to unforeseen circumstances The Rumjacks have had to pull out of their support gig tonight.”

According to Tone Deaf, McLaughlin was sentenced at Penrith Courthouse last week for alleged assaults on a former girlfriend, which occurred over 2 years ago.

The Rumjacks are a Celtic punk band; they released their debut album Gangs Of New Holland in 2010 before being signed to the new ABC imprint label, FOUR | FOUR.
