The Tongue Vs. Chance Waters

You have most likely heard by now that Sydney-based rappers The Tongue and Chance Waters provided some gripping drama for many of us earlier today. The two went at it following reports that The Tongue had ragged on his peer in an interview, and it soon became obvious that this battle cannot be won by their skills as keyboard warriors, but with their skills on the mic, well, we think.

The cheeky tweet from Oz Hip Hop to amp up their interview with The Tongue (currently doing the press rounds in support of his forthcoming album Surrender To Victory, which drops this week) unleashed absolute hell, with tweets coming left right and centre, even with a couple of F bombs dropped. The language remained civil, no C bombs, but I’m sure it came close.

So riveting was the exchanging that Hilltop Hoods even piped up, expressing their anticipation of what happens next. Chance Waters, who is also probably not hating the publicity given the fact that he will head out on tour very shortly, has addressed the ‘beef’ directly via Facebook, voicing his concerns with what just went down and the culture surrounding it.

And with that it looks as though the dust has settled, but shit got real for a while there, so maybe the idea of this being settled 1 on 1 verse for verse isn’t so crazy.
