THIS THAT Festival Issues 2019 ‘Save The Date’

Newcastle’s favourite “high risk” festival THIS THAT is back for high times in 2019 and you’re cordially invited to attend.

Following a sold-out 2018 edition, this year’s instalment of the Newy bash will go down at Wickham Park on Saturday, 9th November so pencil it into your daybooks, m8s.

With past headliners like Alison Wonderland, RL Grime, Broods, The Presets, Peking Duk, Schoolboy Q and RÜFÜS, the event’s organisers are promising this year’s instalment is going to be “even more impressive”, spruiking “a veritable feast of local and international artists”.

The official lineup is set to be announced in the coming months so stay bloody well tuned.

Meanwhile, getting named on the NSW Premier’s big “high risk” festival list — despite being praised by NSW police just months prior for the implementation of a gold standard crowd care strategy — doesn’t seem to have dampened the spirits of organisers, who’ve proclaimed in a statement that the Aussie festival staple is “here to stay”.

THIS THAT’s new dance-heavy sister fest UP DOWN was also named on Gladys Berejiklian’s shit list — despite the event having never actually taken place at the time.

In response, organisers sent a formal invite for Gladys to attend the inaugural bash with a guestlist of 10 and announced a special “Gladys Party Pack” for punters.

The experienced team, who’ve directed events and fests across NSW without major incidents or deaths for over 12 years now, wanted the Premier to come along and see their good work for herself.

No word if she actually took them up on the offer, but police have since praised the festival following its debut this past weekend, saying no one required hospital treatment.
