Thom Yorke Turned Up To His Neighbour’s Garden Party And Played An Acoustic Set

Thom Yorke is currently in the midst of a massive world tour in support of Radiohead‘s most recent album A Moon Shaped Pool but he still found the time to stop off at his neighbours and perform an acoustic set.

According to a reddit user verylittlesound whose Dad was there, Yorke performed with an acoustic guitar at a house in his hometown of Oxford.

“In Oxford at garden party with Suzie’s neighbours, about to hear entertainment from neighbour Tom York of Radiohead,” read a text from verylittlesound’s Dad who couldn’t spell Yorke’s name but was corrected by his son who also asked him to “get his autograph” or “cut off some of his hair”.

The Dad didn’t do either but he did manage to scout out someone who knew the names of the songs that he played. He took to the stage for half an hour and managed to fit in Desert Island Disk, No Surprises, Street Spirit, Reckoner and I Might Be Wrong.

verylittlesound did ask his Dad to take a video but that seemed to be a little too much to ask and instead we’re left with just one photo (above) of the miraculous event.

It may be one of Yorke’s most random surprise gigs right behind that time he turned up and played a DJ set to just eight people at Cornish festival Leopallooza.
