Just last week, Thundamentals dropped their thumper of a new single Smilies Don’t Lie, and today they’ve back it up with a brand new clip. The crew have a brand new album on the horizon so its high time they got on the road at come September, they’ll be heading out on their first and only run of shows for 2013.
The tour dates will include performances at FBi’s 10th birthday bash in Sydney as well as Melbourne’s Sprung hip hop festival. Other than that, they’ll be hitting just about all major cities with plenty of time in regional ones. No other tour would have done the track considering that Smiles Don’t Lie has been getting a serious pumping all over the land. The track hit home with the folks at triple j who have put it on high rotation, and the gods of the iTunes Hip Hop Charts looked kindly upon it also, placing it at a healthy #5.
The boys have been hard at it crafting their upcoming third studio album oh so carefully. The release is yet to be titled, and while we don’t have a confirmed release date, the maiden single is strong evidence that they built it well, as they did with their sophomore album Forevolution.
