Globetrotting musician, actor, comedian and playwright Tim Minchin has announced his return to his homeland for his first Australian tour since 2012.
The multi-talented Perth-bred artist will bring his ‘BACK’ tour to theatres in Adelaide, Canberra, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane between March and April 2019.
Minchin is billing his ‘BACK’ tour as “old songs, new songs, f*** you songs”, suggesting he’ll be performing tracks from across his career, as well as possibly a few newbies.
Minchin has also announced that a portion of profits from the tour will be donated to a local charity in each city, with details of the charities still to be announced.
Best known for his musical contributions to ‘Matilda The Musical’ and the musical adaptation of ‘Groundhog Day’, Minchin has recently returned to the headlines with songs like ‘Come Home Cardinal Pell’ and his marriage equality parody ‘I Still Call Australia Homophobic’.
In 2019, Minchin will star in a new drama series called ‘UPRIGHT’, which he is co-writing with The Chaser‘s Chris Taylor.
