Producer Timbaland is at the point in his game where he can pretty much choose anyone he wants to work with, so the 41-year-old is aiming high, unveiling some hazy plans for a new project involving the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
In a brand-new trailer video (below), Timbaland reveals that Epic Records boss LA Reid brought the idea to him, with the super producer mysteriously saying, “To even go bigger would be two kings working together.” The heavily edited video suggests a single called Chicago is in the works, although there are no concrete details about a release date.
Surprisingly enough, it was Timbaland who aired his disapproval earlier last year when Drake announced plans to produce a posthumous release from much-loved R&B songstress Aaliyah, who died in a plane crash in 2001. But when you’ve already made beats for Jay-Z, Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake in 2013, sometime you gotta border on the side of controversy if you want to take it to the next level.
