Tinnies Go Warm As Falls Festival Hit By Ice Shortage In Victoria

Punters at the relocated Victorian leg of Falls Festival at Mt Duneed Estate have faced something no summer festival-goers should face — an ice shortage (we’re talking the frozen water variety of ice, not the other kind).

Yesterday, Falls Festival’s Facebook page received a number of claims that tinnies and soft drinks were starting to get warm due to the lack of ice at Mt Duneed Estate’s general store, and ticket-holders weren’t afraid of letting organisers know…

Thankfully, organisers said they were aware of the ice situation and were doing all they could to fix it…

Hopefully today, as Mt Duneed faces 30+ degree temperatures, there will be ice a’plenty and ice for all as the festival heads towards New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The Victorian leg of Falls Festival 2015/2016 was set to take place in Lorne, but was relocated to Mt Duneed Estate, a winery an hour’s drive from Lorne, due to bushfires in the Lorne region earlier this week.

Since the relocation, Falls Festival has posted to Facebook saying it has raised over $100,000 from its special NYE-only Mt Duneed Estate tickets, which are now sold out. All proceeds from the tickets will be donated to bush fire relief efforts.
