Holy shit. Holy fucking shit. This is not a drill.
As music lovers around the world prepare to give up hope of a new Tool record, drummer Danny Carey has given us an actual month we can expect an album, and we almost can’t believe it.
Consequence of Sound reports that, while at a convention in Anaheim, California, a fan asked Carey for updates on the elusive Tool album while receiving an autograph. Remarkably, Carey gave him a prompt reply – “Yeah, it’s gonna be out in mid-April. That’s the plan, anyway.”
On top of that, a teaser for something (???) has been posted on Tool’s website so we know for sure that something is coming and we’re losing it.
But wait – there’s more. According to Metal Injection, an associate of the band named Gabriel Shaffer reportedly listened to a completed Tool project and took to Instagram to share his thoughts.
“Still recovering from last nights hang in Hollywood at the loft,” he wrote. “All I can say is I heard something from start to finish, that a number of us have been waiting to hear for over 10 years now. I can confirm it is worth every bit of the wait. The main question is are we worthy of it? #tool.”
