Nine Inch Nails bandmates Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have shared an extended version of a track they composed for the end credits of new HBO series Watchmen, which debuted over the weekend.
The pair composed music for the entire series – inspired by the comic book series of the same name – and plan to release three separate albums of music from the show.
The first is scheduled for release on 4th November, followed up by another on 25th November and the third on 16th December. You can pre-order the soundtracks on 180-gram vinyl through the Nine Inch Nails website.
While it’s not the first time the duo have composed a score – Reznor and Ross worked on the music for 2010’s The Social Network, 2014’s Gone Girl and last year’s Mid90s, among others – it is the first time the NIN bandmates have teamed up to compose for a network TV series.
As Consequence of Sound points out, the new end credits track Reznor and Ross have shared goes for almost double the length of the show’s end credits, at just under five minutes.
