Triple J Enlist Art Vs Science, Cosmo’s Midnight & More For New Theme Songs

Both triple j and Double J have commissioned Aussie artists to rewrite the theme songs for some of their crowd-fave segments. It comes as part of their Fresh Start initiative, which hopes to support Aussie artists affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Enlisting local artists, we’ll be hearing hand-crafted tunas to lead us into triple j Hack and Double J’s The J Files and Curated, to name a few.

Who’s crafting the tunas you ask? None other than Art Vs Science, Cosmo’s Midnight, Trials, and Beatrice Lewis (Haiku Hands), among many others.

On top of that though, Double J is also delivering a video series titled Home School of Rock. It’ll give us tutorials in music from the best: Ngaiire, Olympia, and L Fresh The Lion.

The new theme songs will be launching in the latter half of this year. While we’ll be getting those fresh tutorials from August.

Triple j recently announced they’re unlocking the Splendour in the Grass vault for us in lieu of this year’s festival. Splendour in the Past will give us all those iconic Splendour performances we’ll be missing next weekend. Read more about it here.

Triple j Unearthed recently gave 16 local artists Level Up grants — head here to learn more.
