Turnstile Play To 60,000 Fans At Free Washington DC Show, Raise Over $300K For Humanitarian Aid

Turnstile have turned their hardcore community spirit into some serious humanitarian action, drawing an estimated 60,000 fans to a free benefit concert at Washington DC’s iconic Washington Monument and raising more than $220K USD (that’s about $313K AUD)for relief efforts in Palestine, Sudan and Lebanon.

The Baltimore hardcore heroes staged the massive outdoor show on Saturday, 24th October, bringing the latest leg of their NEVER ENOUGH tour to a spectacular close with their biggest hometown-area gathering to date.

“THANK YOU WASHINGTON D.C.”

Organised in partnership with humanitarian charity Human Concern International, the concert was initially aiming to raise $US100,000 for communities affected by humanitarian crises across the three regions.

But by Sunday, donations had more than doubled that target, surpassing $US220,000.

For frontman Brendan Yates, who grew up in nearby Burtonsville, Maryland, the monumental occasion was also something of a homecoming.

“This is a scene that raised us,” Yates told The Washington Post ahead of the concert.

Despite reportedly nursing an injured ankle following weeks on the road, the vocalist led Turnstile through a mammoth 19-song, 75-minute set, tearing through fan favourites including Real Thing, Mystery, HOLIDAY, BLACKOUT and NEVER ENOUGH.

Midway through the performance, Yates thanked the enormous crowd for supporting the humanitarian fundraiser before leading a chant of “Free Palestine! Free Sudan! Free Lebanon!”

The location also carried a special significance for the region’s hardcore and punk community, with legendary Washington DC outfit Fugazi famously staging free concerts near the Washington Monument during the 1990’s.

The show marks another extraordinary milestone in what’s already been a massive year for Turnstile.

The genre-bending hardcore outfit took home their first two Grammy Awards earlier in 2026, including Best Rock Album for their acclaimed record NEVER ENOUGH, before making their Saturday Night Live debut earlier this month.

And the band’s commitment to using their platform to support grassroots causes has extended to our shores, too.

During their most recent visit Down Under in January 2026, which included an appearance at Beyond The Valley and a string of East Coast headline shows, Turnstile also staged a surprise Sydney benefit concert in support of First Nations Response (FNR).

Founded in 2020, FNR is a grassroots Aboriginal women-led organisation providing culturally appropriate food relief and crisis support to Aboriginal communities across Sydney’s inner-west and inner-city.

The organisation’s work spans everything from responding to floods and supporting families through sorry business to assisting women escaping domestic violence with essential furniture and household supplies.

While the final amount raised at Turnstile’s Sydney benefit has not been publicly confirmed, the show was another example of the band’s ongoing support for community-led initiatives.

With their Washington DC benefit now raising more than double its original fundraising goal, Turnstile have delivered another potent reminder of what can happen when a music community comes together for a cause.

Ed Sheeran should probs take a note or two.
