Sydneysiders and Melburnians prepare yourselves, because both Twilight At Taronga and Melbourne Zoo Twilights have just announced their respective 2017 music programs.
The program will run from Friday, 27th January to Saturday, 11th March, and both zoos will kick off their open-air music series with Aussie rock legend Peter Garrett with his band The Alter Egos. They’ll be joined on the opening night by Kev Carmody, and the original lineups of Jo Jo Zeb & The Falcons and The Sports.
Brisbane outfits Ball Park Music and The Jungle Giants will play back-to-back show, while The Rubens will make their debut at both zoos. Killing Heidi and george will play reunion shows, The Living End will play a special show accompanied by a string quartet, while Kurt Vile, Bjorn Again, Tegan and Sara and Martha Wainwright will all play shows.
Jet have announced their return, as will play Twilight At Taronga only, as well Kasey Chambers, Thelma Plum, James Morrison and Teenage Fanclub.
Meanwhile Melbourne Zoo Twilights will exclusively feature Warpaint, Paul Dempsey, The Specials and the Hoodoo Gurus.
All tickets to both series’ include same day zoo entry, and Twilight At Taronga ticket-holders will also receive free ferry travel from Circular Quay, bus transfers from Taronga wharf to the zoo, and post-show buses to the Spit Junction and Mosman.
All proceeds from both series’ will go to Taronga and Melbourne Zoo’s conservation work. Full series dates and ticketing details available below.
UPDATE 31/10/16: The Rubens’ Twilights shows in Sydney and Melbourne have both sold out, with a second show added in each city. Abba tribute Bjorn Again’s Saurday night Sydney show has also sold out, while Slowly Slowly have been named to support Hoodoo Gurus in Melbourne. Catch the updated details below.
