U2 Announce ‘The Joshua Tree’ 2019 Australian Tour With Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

Back in November last year U2 caused panic among fans. Bono ended their concert with a worry-inducing message: “we’re going away now”.

He addressed fans saying, ““We’ve been on the road for quite some time, just going on 40 years, and this last 4 years have been really something very special for us.

“We’re going away now…”

But now, we can tell fans that everything is gonna okay. U2 have announced their The Joshua Tree 2019 tour.

It’s been nine years since the iconic Dublin band hit our shores but now they’re set to hit Australia’s stadiums to celebrate the 1987 album with us.

Just to add a cherry on top too, they’re bringing Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds along.

Noel’s just as keen as us saying, “We, NGHFB, are beside ourselves. The Joshua Tree 2017 Tour was some of the most fun we ever had. It will be both an honour and a pleasure to share the stage with our friends and comrades once again. It’s gonna be a ripper!!!!!”

“It’s only taken me 30 years to learn how to sing these songs and it’s great to be able to say that I’ve finally caught up with the band. Our audience has given the Joshua Tree a whole new life on this tour,” says Bono.

“Doing these shows has been very special for us, a lot of emotion… From the despair of how relevant some of the dark songs still are, to the joy, pure fun of the staging… it’s quite a ride.

“And now we get to do it all over again. Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul… We’re coming for you.”

The Joshua Tree 2019 Tour will hit up stadiums in Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, and Perth and kicks off in November this year.
