VIC Government Offer Music Venues Grants To Help Deal With Complaining Neighbours

Applications are now open for Victorian live music venue owners/operators to receive a grant to go towards soundproofing. The Good Music Neighbours scheme is now ready to rock and will hopefully silence a whole heap of complaining jerks.

For another year, the campaign allows venues to apply for up to $25,000. The money can go towards things such as installing acoustic insulation in walls, ceiling and floors, obtaining a professional acoustic assessment and plan or even sprucing up your gear to meet standards.

The funding is available to venues that are currently copping it from neighbouring residents, and must show a worthy dedication to original live music. Applications will be open until Wednesday 13 July at 5pm.

The move isn’t just to put and end to the complaints, but also to give confidence to the industry and encourage an expansion. You can apply here.
