Mansfield’s finest purveyors of quality riffs, Violent Soho, have announced a huge Christmas-themed hometown show with their mates WAAX, comedian Aaron Gocs and Frenzal Rhomb’s Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall.
Soho have locked in a special ‘Santa Is Coming To Mansfield’ show at the Mansfield Tavern on Saturday, 23rd December, with Gocsie set to dress up as Santa for the event and McDougall to emcee all the various shenanigans.
Soho are also promising a “very different” set list for the show, which will see the group take free Christmas photos with ticket-holders and Gocsie Santa after 5pm.
“We love playing the Mansfield Tavern,” say the band.
“When we were kids it was called the Rock Arena and they had bands like Grinspoon and No Doubt play — it doesn’t really get that many bands playing there anymore. Being 30 mins out of the city it makes sense but we’re from the suburbs and love any excuse to take it back!
“Rumour has it that it’s up for sale so we want to play it at least one more time before our spiritual stomping ground is sold and we can’t play there anymore. It’s literally the only way to see us with a home field advantage.”
Violent Soho released their latest album WACO last year, and spoke to Music Feeds in August about their plans for new music.
