Bringing the kind of dirty hip hop we all grew up with back to The Cross, along with a healthy dose of some of today’s tastiest shit, Chocolate Jesus Industries, Zaire Records and The Club are bringing WARM SUGA back after a year of hibernation, launching on Friday the 30th of September, to service everybody’s Friday night need for hip hop and RnB to set them off over the long weekend. For the Grand Opening, they’re offering free entry before 12am if you like their facebook page. Here’s a video of one of the parties The Club held recently, should give you an idea of what to expect.
Taking up residence at The Club in Kings X, Sydney’s home of debauchery and extravagance, this ghetto extravaganza promises to push the boundaries of excess. To quote the press release, “get ready for a night of bling, bass, Cristal and other cliche’s, it’s time to get MTV people.”
Converted from the old Dancers Cabaret strip club, since opening The Club has long been seen as one of Sydney’s most exclusive nightspots, playing host to some of the cities leading fashion and entertainment figures, even having one of their barmaids recently featured in Maxim, going in the running for Maxim Barmaid of the Year. With WARM SUGA on board though, they’re throwing the doors open for everyone to come and enjoy the debaucherous wares on offer.
Dressing up being encouraged, WARM SUGA suggesting to “think of the video for Ignition (Remix) by R. Kelly if you’re looking for inspiration,” the organisers have gone out of their way to deliver the most hip hop hip hop night this side of L.A., The Club providing the perfect setting for what may be Sydney’s most swanging slice of urban nightlife.
In honour of the occasion, the organisers have secured the services of local hip hop legend DJ Carl Alley aka The Soul Controller, who’ll be bringing his brand of big club hip hop and booty bass to The Club for the first time. A legend in his own right, Carl is known for his seamless sets tailor made for the dancefloor, having honed his craft over years playing around Sydney’s clubs over the past decade. Joining Carl are The Club regulars Rogers Room and Grass as well as Zaire Records natives Pages and Strip Club DJs.
