30 Seconds To Mars have honoured a number of music icons who’ve passed away recently, by covering songs by Linkin Park, Soundgarden, David Bowie, Prince and George Michael in one touching mashup.
Performing in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, Jared Leto and co. performed David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’, Soundgarden’s ‘Black Hole Sun’, Linkin Park’s ‘Crawling’, Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ and George Michael’s ‘Freedom’ with help from a backing choir, in a mashup dubbed ‘A Tribute To the Greats’.
The tribute, which you can watch in full below, comes after Leto paid tribute to late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington and late Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell at the MTV Video Music Awards last month.
Meanwhile, 30 Seconds To Mars say they are “absolutely” going to tour Australia next year, in support of their forthcoming fifth studio album.
