Labor MP Anthony Albanese has been tearing up the Aussie music scene for a good couple of years now since first unveiling his true identity as DJ Albo.
He’s also the official ambassador for Record Store Day today, and yesterday morning he dropped by Studio 10 to show off his DJ skills for Australia.
This wasn’t just any DJ set though. As Tone Deaf points out, Sydney band Polish Club sent Albo a vinyl copy of their record and challenged him to give them a plug on the show.
Albo posted the message and record to Instagram, calling it “a damn fine album.”
True to his word, Albanese wrapped up his set on Studio 10 by playing Polish Club’s single ‘Beat Up’, also taking the opportunity to spruik his love for vinyl.
“It shows that new bands are producing vinyl!” says Albo. “If it’s not on vinyl it doesn’t exist!”
